The Market includes a wide variety of vendors featuring: fruit and vegetable vendors from throughout the Midwest, baked goods and pastries, coffee roasters and brewing, local honey, fresh-made crepes, a variety of hand-made pastas, delicious Mediterranean olives & oils, knife-sharpening and watch repair, hand made soaps, dog training, live music, and children's activities. Bring your appetite, and join us for a lovely afternoon in at the Market. Free parking in the lot to the north of the park or on Irving Park Road and on surrounding side streets.

Whole Foods South Loop has invited their favorite local producers and organizations to join them for a Local First Market. This is the kick-off event of Local Firsts program that will take place every first Saturday of the month. They'll have a different a theme each time to showcase their favorite local products and other great local initiatives. Urban Worm Girl will be on hand showing off the worms, and teaching you about different forms of indoor composting.

Urban Worm Girl is once again pleased to present their complete composting workshop at the Chicago Center For Green Technology. Learn the difference between backyard composting and composting with worms with hands-on displays and presentations that explain the process in-depth. See a variety of different types of worm bins, and learn more about the pros and cons of building your own bin. Find out more about how you can keep worms in your own home, apartment, or condo with a minimal amount of space, and a maximum amount of compost production. We'll also discuss the benefits of using worm castings in your gardens and houseplants, and how to store compost in the off season. Learn what it means to live green! With representatives from over a dozen local organizations, including the U.S. Green Building Council, the Morton Arboretum, and the National Wildlife Federation, who will explain how you can make future-friendly choices today. Even the entertainment will be green — Jim Green, that is! Known as the Wandering Endorphin, Jim uses the acoustic guitar to create enchanting, percussively-driven soundscapes in a fresh and compelling way. Going green has its rewards too, green prizes will be raffled off during the fair. Receive one raffle ticket just for attending. Receive a second ticket for bringing one of the following items to be recycled: eyeglasses, batteries, cell phones, or athletic shoes. Each attendee will receive one ticket for his/her recycling donation, regardless of the number of items recycled. And best of all the event is FREE!

The Evanston Green Living Festival is a FREE event that was started to encourage individuals to make meaningful changes to their everyday life that will reduce their personal carbon footprint. The festival promotes this green lifestyle by providing a venue where local green vendors, exhibitors, and speakers can present to an interested audience. Attendees will encounter vendors selling rain barrels, learn how to compost, listen to expert speakers and see the latest in green automobile technologies. Kids will have fun at the festival too! They can tour a mini-farm, check out student exhibits, participate in fun activities in the Animal Room, or enjoy delicious food at a picnic table with their family.
